Do I have to specifically prepare my home for carpet cleaning?

Yes. To get the most mileage from your professional clean and ensure a speedy process, we recommend some of the following –

Sundry items such as toys, pet beds, clothes, shoes and rugs should be picked up before your specialist cleaners arrive.

We also recommend vacuuming once-over to remove pet hair and other surface debris so you can get the most out of your professional service.

In order to give your professional team ‘the big picture’ of what needs to be addressed, furniture should be moved out of the areas that you are having serviced.

For safety’s sake, it is recommended that any breakables like picture frames or glass decorations are temporarily moved to a safe location.

Be sure to point out any specific areas of concern to your technician while he is doing his pre-inspection. This helps your team do their job thoroughly.

If you know where certain tough spots are – such as pet accidents or wine stains, specifically point these trouble-areas out to your cleaning team.

How often should I have my carpets professionally cleaned?

Given the general rule, professional carpet cleaning by a certified company should be done about once per year.

For heavy traffic areas, such as door entry-ways, passages and the family room, cleaning may of course be required more often.

It’s important to remember that many stain resist warranties actually require regular professional cleanings.

Can pet odours be completely eliminated from my carpets?

Although there is generally a high success rate of removing light to moderate pet odour issues, extreme pet damage can often not be completely eliminated with hot water extraction.

If urine has soaked into the carpet padding or sub flooring repeatedly for a long time, it may need to be completely replaced to eliminate the smell.

All carpet technicians are trained to identify these cases, and give you expert advice on what to do next.
